| "Hang On Snoopy" was the title of a 60's Pop song and includes the ever knowing member of The Peanuts, that one and only beagle and WWI fighter ace... | |
| BuildUP_BridgeOverWater_01-02-09.pdf | "Bridge Over Water" is about more than the actual bridge, but about one who even walked on water...and may call us to do the same - with his help of course... |
| BuildUP_RestoreTheTemple_01-12-09.pdf | Saint Augustine described the visible church and the invisible church - and the church is much more than a building or even the people that go there. Each believer is a "temple of God" that |
| "Keep your chin up" is the advice of the old hound dog; but sometimes it is encouraging to reach out and encourage someone else...even if you don't feel like it. | |
| BuildUP_DancingBlues_01-26-09.pdf | It hardly seems encouraging, the "Blues"; but maybe there's much more to it than the single word. Is it possible to dance to the blues (or dance the blues away?); well, King David found away; let's find out what is style is all about... |
| "We shall Overcome" is the mantra of the many who have known degradation and despair; but unless we suffer to some degree, how can we really experience such hope and resolve? | |
| Optimism is the view of a "glass half full"; looking on the bright-side; etc. | |
| Possibly the most popular song of all time, "Somewhere over the Rainbow" is a winsome and winning song of hope; it may be fantastical, but hum a few bars and before you know it, you're clicking your heels | |

"Build up hope so you’ll all be together in this, no one left out, no one left behind. I know you’re already doing this; just keep on doing it." - 1 Thessalonians 5, The Message
“To
Build Them Up” is yet another Ecclesiastical expression:
“…a time to build up…” – which means essentially to Encourage,
to build up or uplift. A
public defender commented (during a session) that this world is really
messed-up.
Well, not that most of us don’t realize this, but in all the
mess, how often are we encouraged; or for that matter, do we
want to be
encouraged?
If we do (want to be encouraged), than we may just have to Venture-out to this encouragement. Like a nomad traveling through a barren desert, the wellspring or oasis may be few-and-far-between…and even then, could be a mirage. Yet Isaiah tells us, “If you're Thirsty, come to the Water…” - as did Jesus repeat in the New Testament.
Jesus met a woman at a well; and after some discussion - and her acknowledgement in the coming Messiah - he told her: “Everyone who drinks this water will get thirsty again and again. Anyone who drinks the water I give will never thirst—not ever. The water I give will be an artesian spring within, gushing fountains of endless life.”
On the perusal of the Web, I came across the quote: “Without friends, life is empty and incomplete.” …and friends are called friends because they strive to build ‘em up.
