| CrossRoads_RoadRunsThroughIt_01-03-09.pdf | I saw the movie The River runs through It, but what is this about? The Hebrews, while in route to The Promise Land, walked through the Red Sea and eventually, the Jordan River. |
| CrossRoads_UrToEternity_01-13-09.pdf | Father Abraham (or Abram) left his hometown called Ur because God told him to; and by faith, he traveled south to a new land - while resting on the promise (or covenant) that God |
| Hindsight is said to be 20/20; but what about foresight? Well, the choices in life are not always | |
| Faith is being sure of what is hoped for and certain of what we do not see. Like a child - with their tender need for their parents - we are called to follow and trust in our Lord. | |
| CrossRoads_WayToLife_02-23-09.pdf | What is life; and what is the way to it? Some say that "life is a beach"; others demand "Get a Life". but God says, "the road that leads to life is narrow, and only a few find it..." |
| Passover is the celebration of the angels "passing over" of the angel in the days of Egyptian bondage | |
| Christ is the Prince of Peace; but what is real peace all about? | |
| We can praise ourselves, praise other people, and receive praise; but who should we actually praise? | |
| Talk to God; he listens to his children as a father is suppose to do... | |
| In the terms of agriculture, "reaping" comes after preparing and sowing the dirt; and in the spiritual realm, it has do with what we receive - in view of what we've sown. The word tells us that we reap what | |
| Joy and happiness are not the same; what's the difference? | |
| Coming next: "Go and be Good" | "The Good Samaritan" is a wonderful story for which Jesus shares the compassion possible - from even the least likely people; and we are to go and do likewise... |
| What is compassion? Jesus had compassion when he fed the thousands; the Good Samaritan had compassion when he gave aid to the beaten and robbed traveler; what about you? | |
| The Four Gospels of the Bible represent stories or accounts of Christ, the Messiah; thus, the believer is inclined to read (and read again) these stories while taking on His likeness... | |
| Long foretold, the birth of Christ was made manifest in the backdrop of a great empire, a common family, and a lowly town or village; yet out this prophesy - and through the supremacy of God - the final and complete "king" came to us and, having endured this life, will return again... | |
| Shepherds were initially afraid when the angels appeared...but wouldn't you be? Christ was characterized as the Shepherd, but was also the Messiah and Master - offering truth, salvation and peace to those who realized (or realize) Christ as the son of God... | |
| Christ is taken to the Temple for the consecration (of the first born). While there, several recognize him as the Messiah - as the Light of the World, the Lamb of God for all mankind... | |
| The arrival of the magi occurred sometime after Jesus' birth; but besides the star that lead them, a dream was also instrumental in their return (East); and Jesus is carried to Egypt for safety... | |
| The Hebrews have a history in Egypt - as this second Joseph would be instrumental in fulfilling that a return to the land...and, after Herod's death - the return to Canaan to free the bounded... | |
| Continuing on the Gospel, Jesus comes home; well almost. Joseph is lead to leave Egypt through a dream and, once in Israel, is lead to Nazareth through another dream... | |
| The first recorded account of Jesus doing the things of the Father occurs while the family is on a perennial visit to Jerusalem. After the relief of finding Jesus, Mary holds to the things... | |
| John the Baptist had never seen Jesus; yet, at the Jordon, John recognizes who Jesus is: "God's Passover Lamb". Then Andrew and John - disciples of John - follow Jesus... | |
| Jesus begins his ministry by fasting (for 40 days) and being tempted by Satan; why fast...and why the temptation on the basic temptations of Pride, Power and Possession? | |
| A wedding is the setting for Jesus' first miracle; where, at his mother's bidding, Jesus turns water into wine. Why a wedding...why wine? Let's look at the NIV and The Message... | |
| Jesus "cleans house" - to mean that he chases the money-changes and merchants out of the building called the temple. Why did Jesus become so angry this? | |
| Nick arrives in darkness and leaves in the light of Christ. He is told that to know Christ is to be born again; but to be born again, the truth must be accepted by faith... | |
| The Samaritan woman is met at the well by Christ; and he knows everything about her. Her class of nationality does not matter...and he tells her of the Messiah and salvation. | |
| A healing that takes place long-distance and with no prior acquaintance; and how does Jesus heal the son in the very moment of his command? By the power of God, of course. | |
| Jesus was both the messenger and the messiah - he came to save souls but also came to condemn sin; and he was both the son of God and one in the Father. Yes, Jesus is... | |

| The 12 are chosen from at least 72 of the disciples. Why 12..why these 12? So many questions and, sometimes, not so many answers or clear understanding... | |
| Sermon the Mount. Mountains are symbolic and significant places of the Old and New Testament; here, the Beattitudes are presented... | |

| 12 to Preach and Heal. Jesus chose the twelve from among 72 or more prospects; the night before, he prayed in a mountain; and the next day, he commissions them to go... | |
“Cross at the End of the Road” is also in the beginning of the Journey. I am not a theologian, nor a scholar of the Bible; but I am called to learn God’s word and, by his power and presence, to live it. To live it is to embark on and
continue this journey that, by God’s will and to his pleasure, leads one to the Cross at the End of the Road... to Calvary.
Jesus said that anyone that wants to follow him, he must deny himself, take-up their cross and follow him. What does that mean…what does it mean to take up the cross?
Paul (the apostle) described his own pilgrimage as to press on toward the upward call in Christ; and Paul was certainly familiar with sacrifice and suffering. This Website will be dedicated to looking to Christ, to the cross at the end of the Road? …and more to come…
