From Black & White to Shades of Gray
| Verse and other Varieties | Comments on the Verse |
| Shades_Writings_12-02-08.pdf | A continuing-collection of verse and rhyme about my B&W and shades of Gray thoughts...with accompanying explanation, of course |
| Shades_BrokenC_12-03-08.pdf |
To write this verse was almost as painful as learning of the subject matter in the first place; but when good intentions and actions are so distorted in the delivery, someone needs to write a folk song or at least give history and reason a chance... |
| Biological_Father_12-28-08.pdf | "A rose by any other name..."; and so too, a father; let's hear it for those Biological Fathers who want to be Sociological too... |
| Shades_PourItOn_01-11-09.pdf | A feeble try at capturing the evens of the fired-upon; but maybe this verse has a deeper meaning and purpose after all |
| Shades_MollyandMe_01-14-09.pdf | Children love their pets and, sometimes, the pets love the children...and sometimes the pets are beagles that love to use their noses to chase things... |
| Shades_HumanChess_01-12-09.pdf |
Fascinating to see a living chess board; I'm not sure that there was eight pawns on the board that day - there may have been only four...but they were good, worthy pawns just the same |
| Shades_SlamDoorSpider_2005.pdf |
I've heard of a trapdoor spider; so what is a slam-door spider. Well, it does not have eight legs like real spiders do, but with fewer legs, it is still far more lethal... |
| Shades_SunShadeTree_2006.pdf | Perhaps the most attractive feature of this verse is the shape I tried to form; not original in the concept, but maybe the forming of verse with shapes is worth it.... |
| Shades_VastnessofSmallest_2007.pdf | The little worlds around us go so unnoticed and yet, on this day I happen to stumble upon a stumbling bug; watching its struggle so inspirational, I wrote about it |
From Black &
White to Shades of Gray
is a collection of poetry – or verse as I like to call it.
To confess at the introduction, poetry is very limited in my
expressions; it seems to arise in spurts with heavy emphasis on the Emotions
(or deep felt
feeling). I cannot pinpoint the “right condition” for
this form of Expression (and perhaps the collection shows it); I just
have these occasions to voice a some-what, loosely-joined arrangement of
verse inspired by deep feeling or passion.
The title of this collection was derived on the premise that some thoughts (or opinions) are: Binary or “Black and (or) White”; but others are (or should be) somewhere in between or “Shades of Gray”. This premise is best expressed as:
At times I think and believe in Black & White or absolute; other times, in Shades of Gray or relative; whatever I think and believe – whether uncertain or resolute, the verse and rhyme contained herein is somewhere in between.
