Taking inventory can be tedious; especially if a full inventory and not a sample. Can or should we take personal inventories too? |

"When
called to account, you won’t get by with 'Sorry, I didn’t mean it.'"
- Ecclesiastes 5
Within the family of For a Time & Season, "A Time to Take Inventory" is another title with a metaphor - this time about taking inventory as to evaluating or assessing one's...
Taking inventory is a valuable exercise or benefit if the "inventory" is accurately counted or assessed - with my own experience and background as the basis; but if the scales are not accurate or the assessment is poorly conducted, the outcome or result can be inaccurate, even worthless.
The Good Book (the last book of accounts) is said to be the most accurate...of our personal inventory; and, as the audit of all ages draws closer, the need for an accurate assessment in relation to the Creator is always beneficial if performed in the Light of the Creator.
In the Light comes the true picture of the account or the heart of the created, man. Compared to this Light, the heart is found wanting and, in the absence of a complete set of books, is in dire need for adjustments and corrections. Though the heart may be disheartened by the accurate assessment, it is as well enlightened by the Truth - which is always the right course toward correction, healing and readiness...for the Creator.
