For a Time & Season is a collection of short stories that begins with verse from the Bible, book of Ecclesiastes.   Each story takes verse or verses to initiate a thought from a time or period of my life - be it once or recurring, incidental or profound...

In short, this book was said to be written by King Solomon – who was exceptionally wealthy; but more than that, he was the wisest of all.  From the introduction of the Bible translation, The Message, the following excerpt:  

Ecclesiastes sweeps our souls clean of all “lifestyle” spiritualities so that we can be ready for God’s visitation revealed in Jesus Christ…It is an exposé and rejection of every arrogant and ignorant expectation that we can live our lives by…our own terms.

When I began these stories – with the first being “A Time for a Board-game Re-match” – my intention was to go to the depths of my soul…feelings not otherwise if ever expressed.  As the book challenges the reader to grasp the meaning of life, I wanted (or want) to see the real meaning in view of some key verse and life experiences.
