To Tell the TRUTH
| Tell me the TRUTH | Show me the TRUTH | Lead me to TRUTH |
| InAWord_Perception_2005.pdf |
Perception may not be the truth; but is a understood to be so because of feedback - or a response from your senses. Just because you believe something to be true is no certainty that it is true... | Several uses of the "perceive" point (see Acts 28) to man's inability to understand the Spiritual truth of God; only when the Spirit is present can the truth (of Christ) and of man be understood, comprehended, and applied... |
| InAWord_Absolutes_2004.pdf |
An absolute is something that cannot be half-way or "kind-a"; but it is all-the-way or "totally". Something that is relative is subject to change or shift (for whatever reason); whereas, an absolute is as firm or fixed as the Northern Star. | In a world of relativism, the absolutes should stand out: man's laws, ethics and attitudes are in a state of flux - largely arbitrary and aimed to profit the powerful - as law's can be; yet God's position is enduring; remaining steadfast in truth, love and other eternal things. |
| InAWord_Blessings_2004.pdf |
What is the truth when it comes to our soul - or who we are? Before God, the truth may not be what you think, perceive...or desire; yet, God chooses to bless us - often in ways we cannot perceive...or understand. | Blessing come in many forms - as do curses. God's desire is to bless us, but to receive the blessing, we must receive God (Christ) as Lord because we sin...and Christ forgives...and restores us unto the Father. |
| InAWord_Creation_2004.pdf |
We are created in the image of God; what is also true is that we are inclined to sin or rebel against God. Only by the self-knowledge of our "condition" can we cry-out to the Father for salvation. God offers the truth, but we have to recognize and accept it.... | Since the beginning of time, God's qualities...have been clearly seen being understood from what has been made; yet man is unable to see these qualities because of sin. Like scales over the eyes, sin (or depravity) blurs/blinds man from these qualities so evident in creation... |
| InAWord_Glasses_2005.pdf |
If glasses would help, the truth could be seen; but sin blurs or distorts our view of truth. Only by the Spirit can we understand the Spiritual truths of God. | The parable of the blind man is perfect; the simple observation that I once was blind, but now I see - is the recognition that now "I perceive" the truth.... |
| InAWord_Hearing_2005.pdf |
The Spirit is the "sense" that allows us to understand truth. Without it, we may hear - but will not understand... | More than hearing, you must believe; or begin to understand The Message of God... |
| InAWord_Honesty_2005.pdf |
It is impossible to understand the truth when you are dishonest - or when you repeatedly lie. Coming to Christ begins with an honest view of yourself before God; and besides, God knows it all...God cannot be mocked... | There is much to be said about this quality, but in short, God hates unfair scales; and as scales symbolize justice, the truth about justice is that it pursues truth; anything less...is not justice |
| InAWord_Moment_2005.pdf |
How long is a moment? "Truthful lips last a lifetime; but a lying tongue last only a moment..." The "tongue" can be a useful tool, but it can also cause much hurt and damage. Be careful of your words... | The "tongue" - or an individual's words - is a reflection of the heart; what they express in word comes from within; double-tongued (or fork-ed tongue) is two-sided - or is otherwise not single-minded, reliable, or truthful. |
| InAWord_Protection_2006.pdf |
What is true is that I was once my child's protector and - while I continue to pray for their protection - truth of my former fathering has, for a moment, been erased in the minds of these young; yet truth will prevail... | Protection comes in many forms, but when self-protection (of past behavior, etc.) perpetuates lies, the outcome does nothing to preserve the past - only to magnify it... |
“To you
who are ready for the truth, I say this: Love your enemies. Let them bring
out the best in you, not the worst. When someone gives you a hard time, respond
with the energies of prayer for that person..." - Luke 6
To Tell the TRUTH is another addition to the family of Web pages under the title of "Weighing the Scales of Justice". The content and theme has more to do with a Christian perspective of forgiveness - rather than law and judiciary. Still, the relation (to the courts) should not be altogether foreign (I think?)
The illustration of a big question mark is to represent the open-ended "what is the truth?". The central question of the Roman governor, Pilate , was ask to Jesus after the arrest. Already, the arresting party had deemed Jesus guilty - even though he had yet to be sentenced; already, they wanted him executed although the Roman governor did not find him guilty. An offer was made and "the people" chose Christ.
TRUTH is valuable; but sometimes, so expensive, that it is out-of-reach. In the scope of this Web page is the intent to uncover some gems (salient points) of truth as developed (or in development), and to bring to the surface some evidence of its worth and import. Perhaps I will one day know with certainty and confidence that, as Paul said in the book of Acts (The Message), "Every truth and encouragement that could have made a difference to you, you got."
